The Barr and Stroud is a rugged go anywhere binocular
compact roof prism design makes for an ideal all round performers with good
light gathering ability. Focusing down to just under making it ideal for

Unlike true compact binoculars which usually weigh about and

it can be done. Because of the weight and the nicely designed, sturdy rubber
armor, you immediately get the impression you are dealing with a high quality
product.
The focusing mechanism is precise and although stiff out of
the box, it turns smoothly once used a few times. Focusing from close up to
infinity is also very fast, which can be very handy in the field. The diopter
adjustment ring is not lockable as in some other models, but it is so stiff
that it practically can’t be turned by accident.
